Basalt, a dark and fine-grained igneous rock, is formed when liquid magma from volcanoes cools to form solid rock. The Basalt is offered in a honed finish which is highly desirable and very versatile for a variety of spaces and applications. There can be noticeable variances between pieces, so it is important and recommended that a range of this product be viewed before finalizing a purchase. As a natural stone product, it is recommended that this be sealed to extend its longevity. Because this Basalt is very porous, a sealer or grout release must be used before grouting. Miracle Sealants Porous Plus sealer is what we recommend be applied 24 hours before grouting. This will make grouting easier and the clean-up faster.
